Your Eyes Should Be Brown
Your eyes reflect: Depth and wisdom

What's hidden behind your eyes: A tender heart

How fitting, especially because my eyes are brown!

You are Psalms
You are Psalms.

Which book of the Bible are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

Wow, I think that nailed me in every single aspect.  (Maybe except a song waiting to happen, I can't sing for the life of me. )

I think 6.041 went well!  Yay for that being over.  Now hard core German studying for tonight and tomorrow...two tests in a row in the same class, it just doesn't seem right...

Sorry for this huge delay in posting.  It's been hard finding time to write anything, and even now I really don't have the time, but I promised I'd post and I really should anyway.

So, quick review of what's happened since coming up here:  Drove up with Grandparents, watched Katrina coverage on the way up -- very saddening.  Good first week without school, but it was very quickly filled up with things to do.  Then school for the last month.

School has been going mostly well.  Biology is so far not hard at all, 6.041 is challenging but do-able, especially since I have my great p-set buddies Jake and Ele!  I'm still finding 6.002 fun, especially the labs.  It's nice having seen a lot of this stuff before and also being very interested in it.  The more I learn in the class the more happy I am that I'm a 6-1 major.

That said, there is one blight -- German I.  The teacher is awesome and the classmates are all great, but I've come to find that learning a language does not come naturally to me at all.  The amount of outside work in the class, to me at least, is intense.  My first grammar test and first two vocab tests did not go well at all...partly because I didn't study for them in the right way but also partly because I just didn't know the material.  However, we just had a third vocab test that went much, much better, and now that I know how things are working I think the class will turn out fine.  It just requires a lot of time.

Outside of classes:  UROP is going well, better than last semester.  Rifle team is going very well...while practicing prone last week I shot a second shot right through my original perfect 10 shot.  Very nice feeling.  After that Crusade and BSF meetings keep me very occupied.  I'm really loving it though, I just need to figure out how to be more efficient so I can sleep more.  I've been bad about falling alseep in classes.  I've developed a reputation for it, and while I kinda laugh it off, I really do hate it.  Must get more sleep...

I've been trying to do my devotions in the morning, and that has been working out pretty well.  It's great to start the day off focusing on God.  I'm hoping to spend more time on it though...my walk with God truly is the most important thing in my life, far more important than grades or hanging out with friends.

Talking about friends, it's so exciting to see all of the new freshmen here this year!!!! We have such an awesome bunch, and some of them came in already liking Frappucinos without Angelin and I's corruption!   I've also been amazingly blest to get to know some of my old friends much better this year in different ways, and have been blest with a couple of close friendships whose encouragement and help I can't begin to explain.

OK, well I'll have to stop there.  I really have a ton of work to do before I close out this awesome four day weekend.  I can't believe that I've only been here for a little over a month...sooooooo much has happened.  Sorry for such a rambling entry...I did it pretty quickly.  I'll try and update more often with shorter entries.  Have a great week, and talk to you again soon!
